The presentation of a multifaceted work by Chronis Botsoglou dating from the period of 1993-2000. The title “Nekyia” refers to the eleventh book of the Odyssey which describes the descent of Odysseus into a place where no light exists and where through a ceremony of “necromancy” he meets and converses with the shades of the dead. The artist, in his own personal Nekyia, has attempted to understand and depict the manner in which he remembers individuals who are no longer living and who played a significant role in his live. The work attempts to form a visual arts essay on memory. This work belongs to the Lary and Sotiris Felios private collection.
